She is missed by the generations she left behind. Always thinking of the well-being others before herself. To the end, she got stronger, stood straighter, when seeing or hearing anyone she holds dear. I offer a toast of 'sioktong' in her honor.

Emily Gunn- I guess SOME of us just AREN'T getting older which is why we haven't lost the appetite yet! hee hee!

It's not because of my age, really. I learned 3 years ago that eating less, more times in the day is healthier. It keeps your stomach from enlarging [especially when you age] and craving to keep it full. Eating, drinking, breathing in moderation.

As for one of the first things you lose as you get older...well let's just say I'm not married or dating.

Ten bucks for a meal?!? Minimum? $50 for a good steak dinner? I remember when meals were a buck and some change; what a candy bar is now! Ten for the steak, everything! What happened in 30 plus years?!?

The $1 items add up to $6; the $5 adds yp to $9 with the $2 drinks not included. Don't even get me started on fancy coffee! David, right on! Safeway sale section is good enough for me!
Thankfully, I don't have to impress anyone with dinner and a movie.

Rude and condescending. Being the only such store that advertises in the East Bay, I suppose she can afford to be. I rate this small store 2 funerals.

My Mom is looking for 'bells on poles' used to put out candles. "They are a special order, but until we can come up with an exact size, she won't order [you] one." The point is, the proprietress talks down to people and offers no suggestion. I listened to her interact with a couple of other customers and I was so pissed just looking at her that I waited outside. I wouldn't go back there even if it was for a refund!

Fringe
JJ Abrams is famous for convoluted storylines. Like Alias and Lost. He is a fan of the 1960s Star Trek. It shows in the series. Even if this show is like a mix of X-Files, CSI, and NCIS, there are story plots that are right from a Star Trek episode. An alternate world- "Mirror, Mirror." A doomsday device that can obliterate a universe, or save one- 'Genesis Device' in ST II and III. Passing a consciousness at death- "Search For Spock."
The meaning of my profile picture, in video. To me, Fringe is just a copy of this classic, intro and everything.

I am not against religion, government, the law, and money. I hate people who use them to justify their lying lives! Hiding behind the Bible, Quo-ran, Constitution and Bill of Rights will not protect you. Not from a bullet! mot from a natural disaster, I believe in honesty to fellow beings, which none of the above can truly attest to.

Comment to Scott- You DO know that 'God's people' have always been cast out. Eden, Sodom and Gomorrah, the Flood, Babel. Not even welcome to 'their homeland' by Caanites, Phillistines, and later Moors, Arabs, and Palestinians. God did not help them then. Does not help them now. Britain 'gave' them land that wasn't ever theirs.

Isrealis and Jews are not the same thing. One is a national identity, the other is a way of life. Neither of which are 'christian.' Don't get me wrong...I am persecuting neither. Jews were TOLERATED by a Church that condemned other religious people except Jews, because they lent money. Something the Church would not do. Hence' our banking system and debt society.

Isreal itself is not without its atrocities. They are not international innocents. They have nothing to offer the international markets. To me They are the 'wolf in sheep's clothing.' It is said that the only way they will be at home is with God, at the end of all.

Jokes based on race, nationality, profession, and lately, life-style have always been funny, although now not PC. Except by one of their own. Insults are just rude, except from Don Rickles. Lady Gaga likes Queen, but her genetic makeup was taken from these four originals. Everyone get up for the "rock and roll national anthem!" I like the full symphony. See all ther acts on the playlist. I love this song, even though I never knew anyone named Beth. The original four reunited without the make-up.

To all of you warm bloods out there. See you on Discovery Channel. And if you remember this song, give me a holler. The music was something that sticks to you. The video made sense when you understood the stupid lyrics. Like some songs of Savage Garden and Blue Oyster Cult.

Thanks Eric for reminding me that I like Savage Garden. Dedicated to those I ever made promises to.  Dedicated to Angela, even if I already did once before ♥
It's hard to be a gentleman, be charitable, and smile when "thank you" is rarely said anymore. It's hard to say thank you when "you're welcome" is never said anymore.
James Jimbo Denny says- The other day I was in the checkout line at Safeway, the checker was telling everyone thank you and have a good day. Not one person even looked at her let alone said thank you. When she was finished with my groceries she said "Thank you Mr.... Denny. Have a nice day." I looked her in the eyes and said "thank you I will". She stopped what she was doing and gave me a questioning look and could not come up with a response. She smiled at me and said "Wow Mr. Denny nobody ever says anything when I say this". I moved away from the line and listened for a few minuets. The next few people responded to her closing comment.
I'm not talking about kids. Hold the door, give up your seat on a bus, give a dollar at church. There's no acknowledgement. Adults and especially old people. I don't know when "you're welcome" got replaced with "no problem." To me, it just doesn't sound right. It's as if I was being given the brush off, rather than being ...well, welcome. Although eye contact and a smile can replace any of these words just fine ;-) Retailers are required to say "Thank you" as well as smile, and acknowledge the customer by name. Customer service and fast food people just follow a script, period. Pride and indifference is what I see in a lot of people. Young and old. As long as it does not hurt me [or others], I will just shrug and file it away as "idiot to avoid" and move on.

I will forgive those who deserve forgiveness. The same as respect. I can forgive, but I will not forget. I will not forgive the repeat of any transgression.
"...Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"

Emily Gunn wrote- Hey...get this...just spoke to our "Fire System" service mgr from work...dang alarm wouldn't turn off...I said "thank you so much for your help"...and he said "no problem!" LOLOLOLOL Now I am going to think of Rodney when someone says no p...roblem after I say thank you. hee hee hee!

Re: pride...here's a quote..."For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:16
Re: indifference..."And it came to pass that Moroni was angry with the government, because of their indifference concerning the freedom of their country." Alma 59:13
Sound familiar? Just food for thought....and speaking of food, I'm getting hungry...

"De nada" in spanish is "of nothing" which in all sincerity is "think nothing of it" which is better than "no problem" with nothing behind it. It's all semantics I know, but meaning is everything. Again a simple smile can replace all of those, especially from you M'Lady [not you Jim].

Fact: A driver would more likely avoid hitting an animal than a person. Psychology and reflex. Run with your dog across a busy street to find out.
