"I believe in one God"
Period. End of subject. No rituals and mysteries in the scriptures. Embellished by faith. Saints have replaced gods; mother Earth bedomes Mary to avoid punishment,even death at ehe hands of the Roman curch. Icons that replace idols.

Matthew 28:16-20, specifically 19, states "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father AND of the Son AND of the Holy Spirit,"
... as well as 2 Cor 13:13 "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the holy Spirit be with all of you."
 - not some "trinity"... a word that does not exist. Three; seperately called. Nowhere else is this repeated in the books.
1 Cor 8:6 "Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things are and for whom we exist, AND one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and through whom we exist."... not two persons.

Scott, There was another "Ten Commandments"? I wholehaeartedly with that chapter and verses. My interpretation of this is that in all thing, there will be an answer from God, if we look  with our faith. "There will be an answer, if you only let it be" Sait Paul McCartney, evangelist.

Many peoples have followed he "who comes from the east" or out of the desert or mountain or some wilderness. These became religions. LDS, INK, Muslims, whatever. The only difference of the catholic church is it came first. Attempting to lead their flocks, when there is only one true Shepherd.

Carmie, "the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." is one of the basis that Jesus is NOT God, but sent by him. And has been "with [Him} before the world began."

Romans 15 is the basis of those who humbly spread the Gospel to all peoples. Why then does the clergy place themselves ABOVE its congregation? The verses that follow, by the way, show that the Isrealites as a people, and Jews in general did not (and still do not) believe that Jesus is The messiah for which they are still waiting for.

Carmie, I love you and Rowena dearly. I am a God loving man, but not blindly following the church which has led our people, all peoples, not just of the Philippines. It was a tool to both civilize and oppress... it still is, although slightly dulled these days of enlightenment.

Note that I still go to church because it IS a house of God, just not the only one. It symbolically brings me closeer to Him, and to a community of people. So we may listen to the same words, but with different ears and minds of our own. I am not distracted by the statues, plaques with names of departed and living monetary contributors, or the lavish and sometimes outlandish clothes that people wear. God smiles on those that are in sackcloth at the back of the hall, silently calling upon the Lord. Rather than the man [especially woman] who raises loud voices for all to hear.

Religion was invented to keep the masses together. The first five books of the Bible was created to keep the twelve tribes of Isreal from going seperate ways after leaving Egypt [supposedly by Moses]. The New Testament is the culmination of a New-World-like Order [Catholicism] created by Emperor Constantine. The War on Religion should have been considered a World War involving the entire Western civilization, leading to the Protestant split and questioning the authority of the Vatican.

Religion is no more than secret societies with their rituals and pounding the "fear of God' into their members.
